Duncanville ISD will be closed Thursday, Feb. 3, and Friday, Feb. 4 due to winter weather that is expected to make roadway conditions hazardous. Weather forecasts predict heavy precipitation starting Wednesday night as the temperatures drop below freezing. All after-school and athletic activities have also been canceled.
This Friday was already scheduled as a day off for students as staff attends professional development training. The district professional development has also been canceled as the schools and administrative offices will be closed due to inclement weather.
The current district calendar has additional learning and instruction time built into it with the district's early start to the school year. With the added instructional time in the school calendar, teaching and learning will not be adversely impacted.
