On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, the Town of Addison, Texas, announced the appointment of Chris Freis as their new Police Chief. The Duncanville City Council, management, and staff congratulate Chief Freis as he embarks on this new chapter of his career and the Town of Addison on their excellent choice to lead their Police Department.
"Chief Freis rose through the ranks of the Duncanville Police Department with integrity, a commitment to our community, and an authentic approach to leadership that earned him the respect of his fellow officers and City staff," said Interim Police Chief Matt Stogner. "The Town of Addison has appointed as their new Chief of Police someone with unmatched professionalism. I congratulate both the Town of Addison and Chief Freis."
"I had the good fortune of hiring Chris and watching him grow as a professional peace officer over the years," added Robert D. Brown, Jr., Assistant City Manager and former Duncanville Chief of Police. "The Town of Addison has hired an exceptional law enforcement leader. I wish him all the best in his new role."

Chris Freis began his law enforcement career in 2010. He has served as a Duncanville Patrol Officer, School Resource Officer, SWAT Team Leader, Use-of-Force Instructor, and Department Firearms Instructor. His past supervisory roles included patrol, SWAT, internal affairs, and training and personnel. He has served as Duncanville's Assistant Chief of Police since October 2022.
Chief Freis will start with the Town of Addison on Monday, June 10, 2024.
