Our Fire Suppression Division is led by Assistant Fire Chief, Greg Chase. Fire Suppression is responsible for providing a wide variety of emergency and non-emergency services to include, but not limited to the following:

Fire Suppression services are provided by 48 selfless and dedicated professionals committed to protecting lives and property by providing professional, dedicated and caring response to, and mitigation of all manmade and natural emergencies.
Our Firefighters operate out of two fire stations, and are split between three rotating shifts of 24 hours on duty, and 48 hours off. Each shift is led by an Operations Battalion Chief, and each fire station is led by a Captain.
All fire operations personnel are certified Firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), while the majority of our personnel, 43 of the 48 personnel, are certified EMT-Paramedics. Personnel are also certified in a variety of disciplines including, but not limited to, structural firefighting, driver/pump operator, fire/arson investigator, fire officer, incident safety officer, fire instructor, and hazardous materials operations. All personnel are required to exceed national and state guidelines for continuing education requirements for Firefighter and Paramedic certifications.
Duncanville Fire Department also participates in an Automatic Assistance Agreements with Cedar Hill, DeSoto, and Dallas. These agreements allow Duncanville to assist these cities with fire protection and emergency medical services when large scale or multiple emergencies have exceeded their capacity. These agreements also provide such assistance to the Duncanville Fire Department, when needed.
