Water Main Repair Notice
The Duncanville Public Works Utilities Division would like to ask you to pardon our mess as we make needed repairs to the 8” water main on Cockrell Hill Rd. crossing E. Wheatland Rd. This work will be performed at night beginning on June 30, 2025, between the hours of 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
Our contractor will be closing the eastbound lanes of E. Wheatland Rd. to thru traffic at Cockrell Hill Rd. beginning June 30, 2025, through July 3, 2025, and again from July 7, 2025, through July 9, 2025. The southbound turn lane and outside lane on Cockrell Hill Rd. at E. Wheatland Rd. will also be affected with this water main work. All traffic should follow the detour to get around the work zone and back to eastbound Wheatland Rd.
We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause.
Brush and Bulk Collection Update
The City is continuing its effort to collect excess brush and bulk waste. To assist Republic Services, the City has hired Camacho Tree Services and Landscape to support the collection effort.
Camacho began work on Saturday, June 21, in the southern part of the city. On Monday, June 23, Republic Services deployed an additional truck to work alongside Camacho in areas south of Wheatland Road. Republic’s other truck will continue servicing areas north of Wheatland Road.
Since Friday, June 20, crews have hauled 122 truckloads, totaling 3,755 cubic yards of material. The goal is to complete this special collection effort before the next regular collection cycle begins on July 7.

Fight the Bite
To help stop the spread of mosquitoes, residents should get rid of any standing water around their homes. You should also report dirty pools or abandoned homes where mosquitoes might be breeding. To report, call Duncanville Health Services at (972) 780-5000 or use the OurDuncanville app, found in the Apple App Store or Google Play.
To protect yourself from West Nile Virus, use bug spray with DEET. It's also a good idea to stay inside during dawn and dusk, when mosquitoes are out the most.
