Program Highlight
This week, the Recreation Center would like to highlight the Active Stars Cheer Program. The Varsity Active Stars were rolling and stunting all over the gym, showing off their hard work, teamwork, and growing skills. Coach Amara does a fantastic job bringing the team together while keeping the athletes focused, motivated, and engaged throughout practice.
Programs like Active Stars Cheer continue to build confidence, teamwork, and athletic development, and we are proud to see these athletes improving each week.

The members of the Duncanville Recreation Center are the backbone of our daily operations. From lobbies filled with laughter and stories about memories from years past, to young men and women learning how to play pool or beginning their fitness journeys, the center is always full of life.

This FREE community event is the perfect way to spend a beautiful Easter Saturday afternoon with family and friends.
Special Events
Planning for the BloomFest Music & Arts Festival, scheduled for May 9, 2026, continues to move forward as the Special Events Team finalizes key components of the festival. Staff is nearing completion of the Main Stage entertainment lineup, which will feature a variety of musical performances throughout the day, and is currently working on programming for the Community Stage to showcase additional local talent, performances, and community participation.
Another exciting element of this year’s event, the BloomFest Band Battle, continues to generate strong community engagement. Public voting remains open and residents are encouraged to participate by viewing the finalist band videos and casting their votes. The Top 3 bands will be selected to perform live at BloomFest, helping build excitement leading up to the festival.
Vendor recruitment and event logistics planning are also progressing as staff continues coordinating with performers, vendors, and community partners to ensure a vibrant and successful event experience.
In addition to BloomFest preparations, the Special Events Team is also preparing to launch announcements for Duncanville’s July 4th weekend celebration. The official Save the Date for the Independence Day weekend festivities will be released tomorrow, and residents are encouraged to stay tuned for more details as planning continues.

Cedar Ridge Drive Improvements
- The Cedar Ridge Drive Reconstruction and Subsurface Utility Improvements Project has been awarded to Estrada Concrete Company, LLC. The preconstruction meeting is scheduled for March 12, 2026.
Creek Bank Restoration
- The preconstruction meeting for this project was held on March 11, 2026.
Street Division
- Crew repaired 18 potholes throughout the city.
- Crew repaired the guard rail on East Danieldale Road and Cockrell Hill Road.
- Crews cleaned the debris from the creek behind Woodacre Circle.
- Crews removed fallen tree limbs from the railroad crossing behind Merribrook Trail.
- Crews poured concrete on Explorer Street for a utility repair.
- Crews cleaned the storm pipe on Linkview Drive.
- Crews removed hanging tree limbs from the roadway on East Camp Wisdom Road.
- Crews removed fallen tree limbs from the roadway on Cripple Creek Drive.
Summit Pump Generator

· The generator certification was completed on Thursday, March 5, 2026, including load bank testing. However, real-world testing of the generator failed. Staff will hold an on-site meeting on March 12, 2026, with the contractor, design engineer, and generator company to discuss options.
Utilities Division
- From March 2-8, 2026, 25,817,550 gallons of water were pumped. The estimated water loss for that week was 848,359 gallons, including one water leak on Magnolia Lane.
- Public Works Director Bryant has been invited to join an American Water Works Association webinar on March 31st to discuss ASTERRA’s leak detection technology and its benefits for the City.
