The City of Duncanville is proud to partner with STAR Transit—a trusted regional transportation provider with more than 45 years of experience—to offer safe, affordable, and convenient public transit options for our residents, workforce, and local businesses.
Since launching in Duncanville in July 2023, STAR Transit has been expanding access and mobility for all who live, work, or do business in our community.
Transit Options That Fit Your Life
Whether you're commuting to work, heading to a medical appointment, shopping, or connecting with friends, STAR Transit offers flexible service options tailored to meet your needs.
STARNow (On-Demand Service)
- Available Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Book: Download the STARNow App (Google Play), STARNow (App Store) or call 877-631-5278
- Goal: Arrive within 15–20 minutes of your request
- Fares:
- $2.00 for adults ages 13–59
- $1.00 for seniors (60+), veterans, and individuals with disabilities
- Free for children 12 and under (with a paid fare)
- Promo codes may be available for free rides
STARNow also integrates with UberX Share to increase ride availability and decrease wait times.
Demand Response Service
- Schedule rides up to two weeks in advance
- Available Monday–Friday, 6 AM–6 PM
- Book by phone: 877-631-5278 (M–F, 8 AM–4 PM)
- Fares:
- Based on travel distance: Ranges from $1.00 to $12.00
- Discounts available for qualified seniors, veterans, and disabled riders
- Children 12 and under ride free with a paying adult
- Destinations may include locations within Duncanville and surrounding areas, and outside city limits for medical needs
