Unearth a story at the Duncanville Public Library! The library has programs, activities, and plenty of reading fun planned this summer!
Saturday, June 6 (11 AM - 1 PM): Summer Reading Club Kickoff
The annual Summer Reading Club is open to all ages. Log your reading time with Beanstack. For children aged 0 - 3, prizes include free books, coupons, and a chance to win a Grand Prize. For children aged 4 - 18, prizes include something from the Treasure Chest, free books, coupons, and a chance to win a Grand Prize. For adults aged 19 and up, prizes include a tote bag, free books, coupons, and a chance to win a Grand Prize.
How long does the Summer Reading Club go?
Log your reading between Saturday, June 6 and Friday, July 31.
What programs are you offering this summer?
This year the library is featuring daily programs such as special presenters and performers every Tuesday at 2 PM, movies, and more. For information on these and other programs, check the online community calendar here: https://events.duncanvilletx.gov/duncanvilletx
How do I log my reading time?
Create a Beanstack account (https://duncanvilletx.beanstack.com) and sign up for the 2026: Unearth a Story! Summer Reading challenge. Log your reading minutes in Beanstack with a web browser or the Beanstack app. Need help getting started? Contact the Duncanville Public Library in person or call 972-780-5050 for more information.
Can I just use a paper log?
To be eligible for the Treasure Chest prizes, free books, or the Grand Prize drawings, Beanstack must be used. Paper logs are available as a supplement. Library staff are available to help with Beanstack logging.
Is there a deadline for when I have to log all my reading time?
All reading time must be logged by the end of the day on Friday, July 31.
I got a notification that I can pick up a prize! When can I come in to pick up a Treasure Chest prize or free book?
Prize pick-up will be available:
- Wednesdays (5 - 7:30 PM)
- Fridays (1:30 - 5:30 PM)
- Saturdays (10 AM - 1 PM)
When is the last day I can come in to pick up prizes?
Saturday, August 8 is the last day to redeem reading time for prizes.
What are the Grand Prizes?
A total of 12 different Grand Prizes will be available this year. The prizes will be on display in the glass display case in June.
What do I have to do to be eligible for a Grand Prize drawing?
- For ages 0 - 3: Complete all 20 early literacy activities with a child and log the activities in Beanstack.
- For all other ages: Complete 600 minutes of reading and log the minutes in Beanstack.
When will the Grand Prize winners be announced?
Friday, August 14.
