 To provide opportunities for the older adults to remain active and vital participants in our community.

Hopkins Senior Activity Center provides classes, programs, activities for adults 50+, and lunch for adults 60+.

  • Classes (exercise, dance, ceramics and AARP Defensive Driving)
  • Programs (community resources, health screenings, L&L guest speakers and special entertainment)
  • Activities (dominos, bridge, bingo, movies, music, craft classes and excursions.

Being active is healthy and fun at the D. L. Hopkins, Jr. Senior Center! Come join us and play card games, puzzles, brain teasers, dominoes and much more. Bridge is played on Wednesdays, and there's Bingo played monthly with prizes. If that's not enough, dance to the rhythm of your own music, come see movies, enjoy popcorn and a soda for a $1.00! If you like working with your hands, join our craft classes to keep your creative juices flowing.

No refunds are given for a restaurant trip.

All trip participants must have a current membership at the senior center.

We appreciate if you pay at the time of sign-up. Thank you for your cooperation!'

Lunch Is Served

We serve lunch each Monday through Friday at 12 noon. Our meals are nutritious and delicious lunches designed for the older adult diet. Participants must be 60 years of age to have lunch.

We never charge for our lunches; however, we do suggest a donation of $1.00 each day.

Senior Center Activities  Membership

The Senior Center charges a yearly membership fee for participants taking part in classes, programs or center activities.

- Duncanville residents pay $ 15.00 yearly

- Outside of Duncanville residents pay $ 20.00 per year

- No membership is required for having lunch only

Transportation

Transportation

Transportation is provided to the Senior Center either round trip or one way to and from residential homes' daily for participants living within Duncanville city limits. 

NOTE: We do not offer transportation from memory care facilities,' rehabilitation centers or any other assisted living facilities.' Reservations for transportation may be placed two (2) days in advance by calling (972) 707-3843.
